227 | How many easily overlooked questions has the pandemic forced us to reckon with?

What happens when you put on a podcast two avid readers who don’t mind asking bold questions and who won’t shy away from the unsettling effects that a pandemic has had on everything from our global economy to our individual lives? My guess is you get something that resembles the conversation I had with Ben today. Think about it: how many easily and long overlooked questions has the pandemic forced us to reckon with?

The underlying theme in most of the territory that we covered was permanence and how the pandemic has increased our awareness of just how temporary much of life really is. To get us started, Ben made the observation that many of the capabilities we have learned to rely on in the last twelve months have actually been available to us for two decades; for some, it simply required a global pandemic to make us use them. Another example; with some of the rules of engagement being completely altered, what are the ethical dilemmas we really need to begin wrestling with? And how many of us have saw our job descriptions change almost overnight and perhaps never expect them to return to what they were before?
